Medic First Aid


The medic first aid course will give you an overview of First Aid in case of accidents in general and in particular with scuba dive accidents.

This course is one pre-requisite for the Advance Open Water Diver Course.

This course is relevant in daily life too, because you will learn how to respond to emergency situations to provide first aid to injured persons, not only in scuba dive accidents.



For the medic first aid course there is a minimum age of 14 years old.


The course duration is two days, which includes the following topics:

  • The human body
  • First examination
  • Heart and lung reanimation
  • Second examination
  • Stable lateral position
  • Treatment of shock
  • Fractures and crushes
  • Transport techniques
  • Hypothermia and overheating
  • Eye injuries
  • Band aids

The training is valid for two years and should be afterwards refreshed. At advanced trainings the first aid training should be not older than 2 years of certification. In this case a recertification is mandatory.

After successful completion of this course you will be awarded the medic first aid – brevet, which will distinguish you as first aid certified.
