Here you will experience many new adventures as Tec diver. However, like with all courses with IRTDA, it starts with a fundamental education.

 

Your Challenge

As future Tec Deep Air Diver, you will learn everything concerning planning and conducting dives in a depth of 40 to 50 m. You will be confronted with complex calculation of dives – with complex equipment – which has to be handled competent. After the course you are entitled to conduct decompression dives with compressed air – in freshwater up to 40 m – in saltwater up to 50 m.

 

The Fun Factor

As trained Tec Deep Air – Diver, you can explore now new and deeper dive location. You will learn the handling of the necessary equipment and the correct usage of decompression.  All in all it will make you an even safer and secure diver. 

 

Pre-Requisites:

  • Minimum 18 years
  • IRTDA Tec Deep Air Diver Brevet or equivalent
  • Oxygen Diver Brevet
  • Medic First Aid Brevet
  • Night, navigations and deep dive specialty
  • Medical Dive Aptitude Certification (not older than 3 months)
  • Minimum 100 logged dives in the log book, from these dives minimum 20 at a depth of 30 to 40 m.  

 

Qualification Test:

  • In the theoretical qualification test, you will have to prove your basic knowledge.
  • In the practical qualification test, you have to prove your practical skills. This examination dive will be minimum 90 min in a depth of maximum 12 m.  

 

Course content:

The course duration is 5 days

 Theory:

  • Equipment and configuration
  • Dive physics
  • Nitrogen narcosis
  • Decompression sickness
  • Stress management
  • Dive planning / decompression doctrine

Practice:

  • 6 Course dives – 2 of them decompression dives
  • 1/3 rule with decompression dives
  • Valve Shut Down
  • AMV determining during rest and activity
  • In 20-30 m depth – diving over 25 m without mask  
  • Equipment configuration
  • Simulation of all emergency situations

Standard Equipment:

  • Double package (double-10 or more)
  • Wing with harness and back plate (if possible two oxygen cells)

  • Dive suit (min. 2 m)
  • Dive computer (no mixed gas computer required, but recommended)
  • Additional time and depth measuring device
